If a tooth is broken or damaged by decay, we usually try fixing it with a Filling, Crown or other dental treatments. When the tooth is beyond repair using conventional treatments, it may need to be extracted from its socket in the bone. Performed under local anaethesia, this procedure is quick and causes minimal discomfort.
There are TWO types of Extractions:
- Simple Extraction: This is performed on a tooth that can be seen in the mouth.
- Surgical Extraction: This is a more complex procedure, performed by our expert Oral Surgeon to extract a tooth that may have broken off at the gum line, is severely decayed or has not erupted in the mouth (eg. wisdom teeth).
